Michael D. Glass is the founder of Tax Exempt Advisory Services, LLC. As President, CEO and Enrolled Agent he provides vast experience from a 31-year career navigating different areas of the IRS and Examination and Audit processes.
During his tenure at the IRS Michael was a Revenue Agent, Large Case Coordinator, Manager of the Exempt Organization (EO) Team Examination program, senior manager of EO Projects of Compliance Strategies and Critical Initiatives and director of Research and Analysis in the new organization Compliance Planning and Classification (CP&C).
His expertise focuses on EO data analytic strategies, the 990 Series case selection models and Research and Analysis’ new CP&C Compliance Strategy processes. His significant knowledge and background in Research assisted to serve the TE/GE Governance Board and as Senior Manager on multiple acting assignments in EO, the Forensic Investigative Unit (FIU) and Employee Plans (EP).
His scholarly and leadership contributions include the completion of a national project “Colleges and Universities” and co-authoring of the final report to Congress. As Program Leader of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for EO Exam, he developed the IRC 501(r) strategy and the Incomplete & Incorrect Return Project. He played a key role working with MITRE who outlined best practices of the EO case selection models and 1023EZ application processes.
Michaels collaboration experience in Research includes working with Research Applied Analytics and Statistics (RAAS) and resulted in the new EO / EP Predictive Models. Lastly, Michael experiences resulted in opportunities and his serving in key roles as the “Subject Matter Expert” for Unrelated Business Income, C&U, Hospitals and ACA IRC 501 (r).
